Outstanding School Award – Students’ Attainment

In 2001, our school was awarded an Outstanding School Award in the domain of Students’ Attainment under the Outstanding School Awards (OSA) scheme in recognition of the schools’ excellence in fostering all-round student development. The assessment panel highly commended the school’s achievement in education. ‘The school puts equal emphasis on moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic domains so that students are able to have a balanced development and perform outstandingly in each domain. The school sets out 10 students’ codes which permeate subtly through the formal and hidden curriculum.’

Resource School

In 2002 and 2003, the Quality Assurance Inspection (QAI) of the Education Bureau conducted inspection on the school’s self-evaluation and highly commended our efforts in self-evaluation system. Our school was invited twice to serve as a resource school in the Schools’ Professional Collaboration Project. In this capacity, we share and disseminate good practices and experiences in students’ all-round attainment and school self-evaluation with schools in Hong Kong.

External School Review

The QAI of the Education Bureau highly commended our school’s self-evaluation system after the inspection in 2002. Our school was then the first pilot school joining the Quality Assurance Self-evaluation and External School Review in 2003. The External School Review (ESR) team conducted two reviews with the school in 2003 and 2010 respectively. Our school was highly commended in the domains of Management & Organization, Learning & Teaching, School Ethos & Student Support as well as Student Performance for striving to achieve continuous progress, self optimization and attaining fruitful results on fostering students’ whole person development.

Focus Inspection

In 2004, the Education Bureau’s Quality Assurance Inspection Team and a group of Shanghai education experts conducted a key inspection of the school’s teaching and learning. The subsequent inspection report indicated that the school had achieved remarkable results in curriculum and teaching reforms, promoting extensive reading and thematic studies, fostering life-wide learning, and establishing a culture of classroom observation.

Between 2010 and 2022, the Education Bureau sent representatives to visit our school to share and exchange ideas on various aspects, including Chinese Language Education, Personal, Social and Humanities Education, Science and Technology Education, Liberal Studies Education, Mathematics and STEM Education, Gifted Education, and Career Planning. They praised our school for effectively implementing curricula across all learning areas and for keeping pace with the development trends in secondary education. In 2025, the Education Bureau invited the head of the Economics Department of our school to hold an open classroom on Economics for Form 5 students, where they exchanged and shared successful teaching experiences with more than 180 colleagues in the education sector.

Professional Experience Exchange and Sharing

A delegation of 70, comprising officers from Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and representatives from universities and colleges, visited our school and conducted professional sharing on the school’s experiences in promoting balanced student development, whole-person education and nurturing outstanding students.
